During a press conference on Tuesday, Kołecki said that Krzysztof Szramiak, who did not travel to the Rio Olympics, had tested positive for higher-than-normal levels of growth hormone.
Kołecki announced he would resign on 16 August.
The news came just hours after weightlifter Tomasz Zieliński was thrown out of the Polish Olympic team in Rio de Janeiro after testing positive for a banned substance. (rg)
