Two silvers for Poland at Rio Paralympics

Polish athletes with disabilities have won silver medals in the shot put and the discus at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games.

Bartosz Tyszkowski, 22, on Thursday came second in the shot put in the F41 category, throwing 13.56 meters in his best attempt, a centimetre behind Germany’s Niko Kappel.

Earlier in the day, Poland’s Robert Jachimowicz took silver in the discus in the F52 category.

Ninety Polish athletes with disabilities are competing in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, which started on Wednesday.

In the London 2012 Paralympics, Poles won 36 medals and took ninth place in the overall medals classification.
