Gold for Poland in Rio Paralympics

Poland’s Ewa Durska has won the shot put gold in the Rio Paralympic Games, setting a world record with a throw of 13.94 metres.

Her win marks the fourth medal for Polish athletes in Rio de Janeiro.

Poles have won three silver medals so far: Bartosz Tyszkowski in the shot put, Robert Jachimowicz in the discus, and Wojciech Makowski in the 100 metres backstroke.

Ninety Polish athletes with disabilities are competing in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, which started on Wednesday.

At the London 2012 Paralympics, Poles won 36 medals and took ninth place in the overall medals classification.
