The game will be held without striker Arkadiusz Milik, who is off after surgery on his knee a month ago.

Romania has been a tough rival for the Polish national team in the past. Poland has won only five out of 34 matches between the two teams.

However, in earlier qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup, Poland has won two out of three games played, while Romania won only one of its three games.

Friday’s match will be the Polish national team’s 34th game headed by coach Adam Nawałka.

To date Nawałka’s team has notched up 17 wins, 12 draws and four losses.

Milik is expected to be out for another five months after he was injured during Poland’s winning game against Denmark in a World Cup qualifier a month ago. (vb/pk)
