Football: FIFA probes Poland-Romania qualifier

World football's governing body FIFA has launched a probe into Poland’s World Cup qualifier in Bucharest, when a firecracker thrown from the stands temporarily deafened Polish captain Robert Lewandowski.

The 11 November match against Romania was suspended for several minutes as Poland’s star striker received medical assistance.
Fans of both teams threw flares during the game. Before the match, six Polish fans were detained in central Bucharest.
Lewandowski came back from the firecracker incident to seal a 3:0 win for Poland with goals in the 82nd and 90th minutes.
