Ski jumping: Poland's Stoch second on first day of Four Hills

Polish ski jumper Kamil Stoch has taken second place is the first competition of the Four Hills Tournament in Oberstdorf, Germany.

Stoch jumped 137 and 135 metres, which gave him a total of 305.2 points.

In first place was Austria's Stefan Kraft, who was 2.8 points ahead of Stoch with 139 and 134.5 metre jumps.

Polish ski jumper Piotr Żyła came seventh, Maciej Kot 12th, Dawid Kubacki 16th and Stefan Hula 18th.

"I did a good job here. I gave six good jumps in Oberstdorf,” Stoch told public broadcaster TVP.

The next Four Hills event takes place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on 1 January. (vb)
