Argentina has maintained the no. 1 spot in the ranking by FIFA, world football’s governing body, followed by Brazil, Germany and Chile.

Poland started the year as FIFA’s no. 15. Its advance came after Croatia dropped in the ranking following two 1:1 draws in January against Chile and China.

Romania occupies the highest spot among Poland’s rivals in World Cup qualifiers, despite falling two notches in the ranking to 40th place.

Meanwhile, Denmark is 49th, Montenegro is in 64th place, Armenia 82nd and Kazakhstan 96th.

The ranking takes into account the number of games played and their results, among other factors. (pk)
