Kazakhstan's Ilya Ilyin, who received gold in London, and Almas Uteshov (7th), Russia's Aleksandr Ivanov (2nd) and Andrey Demanov (4th), Moldova's Anatolie Cîrîcu (3rd) and Azerbaijan's Intigam Zairov (6th) were all disqualified after testing positive to drugs, opening up the podium for the Pole.

The podium currently has Iran's Saeid Mohammadpour in first place, South Korea's Kim Min-jae in second and Zieliński in third.

Meanwhile, Zieliński is suspended by the International Weightlifting Federation after failing a doping test ahead of the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro, just days ahead of his brother Adrian Zieliński's sample also coming back positive. (vb)
