Poland fields 16-strong team for Lahti ski championships

Poland is sending 16 competitors including star ski jumper Kamil Stoch to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti.

The championships take place in the Finnish city from 22 February to 5 March.
Two year ago, when the championships were held in Falun, Sweden, Poland won two bronze medals.
The Polish ski jumpers heading to Lahti will be: Kamil Stoch, Piotr Żyła, Maciej Kot, Stefan Hula, Jan Ziobro and Dawid Kubacki.
Poland’s cross-country skiers will be: Justyna Kowalczyk, Kornelia Kubińska, Ewelina Marcisz, Martyna Galewicz on the women’s team; and Maciej Staręga, Jan Antolec, Paweł Klisz and Dominik Bury on the men’s.
Meanwhile, Adam Cieślar and Paweł Słowiok will represent Poland in the Nordic combined, in which athletes compete in cross-country skiing and ski jumping.
