Almost PLN 30 million (EUR 7 million) will be earmarked this year to help nearly 3,000 clubs across the country.
Launching the second stage of the “Club” scheme, Szydło said in Warsaw: "The Law and Justice government notices the needs of small and medium-sized clubs.
“We know that it is here that the adventure of young Poles begins with sport, [young people] who grow up to be future sports champions.”
Szydło added: “We realize that there are not always good conditions for development” in such clubs. “That’s why the Club programme was set up.”
A total of PLN 24 million was allocated for the first stage of the initiative, with 2,142 sports clubs benefiting.
