This was the first time in the history of ski jumping that Poland won the competition

The Polish team gathered the most points (5,833) in the competition which ended on Sunday. In second and third place were Austria (5,586 points) and Germany (5,513).

Meanwhile, star Polish jumper Kamil Stoch ended second in the overall World Cup title, coming behind Austrian Stefan Kraft. Stoch ended Sunday’s competition – the last in this season’s World Cup – in fifth place.

Despite not clinching the top title, Stoch was still satisfied.

“Planica is always fantastic. It was my dream to fly over 250 metres and it came true this weekend. I'm second in the World Cup, third in the Ski Flying World Cup and we are the best team. This weekend was amazing and so was the whole season,” he was quoted as saying. (rg)
