Poland lost 0:3 in straight sets (15:25, 16:25, 15:25) to Serbia in Warsaw on Sunday night, after the Czech Republic beat Cyprus 3:0.

After play on Saturday, Poland and the Czech Republic were in equal-second place and just one point behind Serbia.

The current standing is Serbia with five points, four for the Czech Republic and Poland on three.

Serbia automatically advances to next year's competition while the Czech Republic still has a shot at play in the tournament, as all second-placed teams in the group stage will play off against each other for the two remaining spots in the world championships. (vb/pk)
