Cycling: Poland’s Kwiatkowski to ride in Tour de France 2017

Michał Kwiatkowski, one of Poland’s most respected cyclists was announced a part of Team Sky’s lineup for this year’s coveted Tour de France race.

Kwiatkowski will ride alongside his teammates from Team Sky – one of the world’s best cycling teams – including British Chris Froome, who won the Tour de France last year.

Kwiatkowski joined Team Sky in 2016.

He won the Polish national time trial championship on Wednesday by completing the 39.6-kilometre course in Krokowa, northern Poland, with a time of 49 minutes and 42 seconds.

This was the second time Kwiatkowski took a national Time Trial title. He also claimed the world road race champion title in 2014. (tf/rg)
