Poland triumphant at European U21 Volleyball Championships

Poland’s unbeaten under-21 volleyball squad has triumphed at the European Championships in Brno, the Czech Republic, beating Cuba 3:0 (25:20, 25:10, 25:19).

It is the third time Poland has won gold at the event, with earlier victories in 1997 and 2003.
The Polish under-21s success at European Championships on Sunday was the team’s 48th consecutive win.
Poland played eight matches in the tournament, defeating Morocco, the Czech Republic and Canada in straight sets in the first round, defeating China 3:2, Cuba 3:0 and Iran 3:2 in round two and beating Brazil 3:2 in semi-finals.
Brazil beat Russia 3:0 in the match for third place. (vb/pk)
