Italian media reported that after long negotiations the two teams have agreed that English side Arsenal will receive EUR 12 million for the goalie, plus another 3 million if Szczęsny plays well.

Szczęsny, who plays in Italy for Roma on loan from Arsenal, has established himself as one of the Italian league’s top goalkeepers. This season Roma finished second to Juventus in Serie A, Italy’s first division.

However, Szczęsny could spend his first season in Juventus as understudy to local hero Gianluigi Buffon, who may retire next year.

Veteran Buffon has been Juventus’ No. 1 keeper for more than 15 years and also captains the Italian national team.
