Polish women's kayak duo wins world championship bronze

Poland's Justyna Iskrzycka and Paulina Paszek have won the bronze medal in the women's K2 1000 metre race at the Canoe Sprint World Championships in Racice, northern Czech Republic.

The 19-year-olds' world championship debut has secured Poland's only medal, so far, in the four-day competition which ends on Sunday.
Hungarians Ramona Farkasdi and Erika Medveczky came first, ahead of German silver-medallists Tabea Medert and Melanie Gebhard. (vb)
