Poland are close to securing a spot in the 2018 football World Cup tournament after beating Armenia 6-1 in a qualifying match in Yerevan on Thursday.

Poland are top of their qualifying group E ahead of the tournament in Russia next year.
Polish captain Robert Lewandowski scored three goals in the match against Armenia, taking his goal tally to 50 and making him the top-scoring striker in the Polish team's history. (vb/pk)
