Football: Pole to referee Champions League match

Poland’s Szymon Marciniak will referee Tuesday’s match between Real Madrid and Tottenham in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League in Madrid.

This will be Marciniak’s second Champions League match as a referee this season.
On September 13, the 36-year-old officiated a game between Feyenoord and Manchester City (0-4).
In June and July last year, Marciniak refereed matches during the Euro 2016 tournament in France.
Marciniak will be assisted by Polish linesmen Paweł Sokolnicki and Tomasz Listkiewicz on Tuesday. (gs/pk)
