Lewandowski, who, according to media reports, suffered a strain in Bayern’s 2-0 win over RB Leipzig last Saturday, is expected to make the 11-man squad as the German champions take on their domestic archrival in Dortmund.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has tweeted that Lewandowski "has no problems and is back to full fitness. He is highly motivated!"

Heynckes said at a pre-match news conference on Thursday that Lewandowski did not have a serious injury, but complained of being overburdened after many games recently.

The 29-year-old did not fly to Glasgow, where Bayern on Tuesday defeated Celtic 2-1 in the group stage of the Champions League.

Lewandowski sat out the Glasgow game merely as a precautionary measure, Heynckes said.

Meanwhile, another Poland international, right-back Łukasz Piszczek, a key player for Dortmund, is nursing a knee injury that he picked up in Poland’s 4-2 win against Montenegro in a World Cup qualifier in early October.
