Kubot and Melo, ranked world No. 1 in the doubles, took the title in Sydney on Friday, beating Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff and Serbia’s Viktor Troicki 6-3, 6-4.
Earlier the top-seeded Polish-Brazilian pair saw off Rohan Bopanna of India and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France 6-4, 5-7, 10-8 in the semifinals.
Kubot and Melo won the men’s doubles at the Paris Masters tennis tournament in the French capital in November.
That victory marked Kubot and Melo’s sixth title of the season, after triumphs at Wimbledon, Miami, Madrid, Halle and s'Hertogenbosch.
