Tennis: Poland’s Kubot into doubles quarterfinals at Australian Open

Poland’s Łukasz Kubot and his Brazilian partner Marcelo Melo have made it through to the doubles quarterfinals at the Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Kubot and Melo, ranked world No. 1 in the doubles, saw off India’s Rajeev Ram and America’s Divij Sharan 3-6, 7-6 (4), 6-4 in a third-round encounter on Monday.
Next up for the top-seeded Polish-Brazilian pair is the winner of a match between Spain’s Pablo Carreno Busta and Guillermo Garcia-Lopez and a Japanese-German team of Ben Mclachlan and Jan-Lennard Struff.
Before coming to Melbourne, Kubot and Melo won the doubles at the Sydney International tennis tournament in Australia.
