Tennis: All Poles out of Australian Open

Poland’s Łukasz Kubot and Marcin Matkowski have both crashed out of the doubles in the Australian Open Grand Slam tennis tournament in Melbourne.

Kubot and his Brazilian partner Marcelo Melo, who are ranked world No. 1 in the doubles, were beaten in the quarterfinals by Japan’s Ben Mclachlan and Germany’s Jan-Lennard Struff 4-6, 7-6 (4), 6-7 (5).
Meanwhile, Matkowski and his partner, Aisam-Ul-Haq Qureshi from Pakistan, were defeated in the quarterfinals on Tuesday by American twins Mike and Bob Bryan in straight sets 1-6, 4-6.
Earlier, Poland’s Magda Linette and Alicja Rosolska and their respective partners were beaten in the second round of the women’s doubles.
