Linette on Thursday clinched a 6-1, 6-7 (4), 7-6 (3) win against Sweden’s Johanna Larsson in a cliffhanger second-round encounter.

Up next for the 25-year-old Polish player in Taipei was the winner of a match later on Thursday between Hungary’s Timea Babos and Slovenia’s Dalila Jakupović.

Linette comfortably beat China’s Xinyun Han in straight sets 6-2 6-0 in the first round of the Taipei tournament on Tuesday.

Last year Linette suffered a first-round exit at the Taiwan Open at the hands of China’s Lin Zhu.

Earlier this month, the Pole for the first time in her career made it through to the third round of the singles at the Australian Open Grand Slam tournament in Melbourne.

Linette is ranked world No. 60 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
