Poland's Kszczot wins world title at Indoor Athletics Championships

Poland's Adam Kszczot has become the world's indoor 800-metre champion with a time of 1:47.47 at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Birmingham.

Twenty-eight-year-old Kszczot beat Drew Windle of the US who finished the race with a time of 1:47.99, and Spain's Saul Ordonez, 1:48.01.
Kszczot's is the first medal for the Poles at the competition in Birmingham.
Kszczot already had silver and bronze medals for the event, coming second at the World Indoor Athletics Championship in Sopot in 2014 and third in Doha in 2010.
He also has three European indoor athletics championship titles under his belt, winning the 800-metre event in Paris in 2011, Goteborg in 2013 and Belgrade in 2017. (vb)
