Poland's former two-division world champion Tomasz Adamek beat US heavyweight Joey Abell in the Polsat Boxing gala in Częstochowa, southern Poland, on Saturday night.

The forty-one-year-old Pole dominated from round one, dropping Abell four times before defeating him with a total knock in the seventh round.
Adamek's victory over 36-year-old Abell indicates that his heavyweight career is not over yet, according to the onet.pl website.
Adamek is now 53-5, 30 KOs, and a holder of Poland's heavyweight crown. Abell drops back to 34-10, 32 Kos. (vb)
