Officials in Russia said a Sochi training base that is to be used by the Poles is also ready, while final preparations are being made on hotel, rail and air travel infrastructure in 11 host cities.

Russia has a May 24 deadline to have sports infrastructure ready before FIFA, world football's governing body, takes over.

Then, 32 teams and droves of fans will descend on Russia for the month-long tournament, which starts on June 14.

Poland will open their campaign against Senegal at Moscow's Spartak stadium on June 19, before taking on Colombia in Kazan on June 24 and Japan in Volgograd four days later.
