The 2018 World Cup in Russia kicked off on Thursday and runs until July 15.
Poland take on Senegal, Colombia and Japan in the group stage of the tournament.
Marciniak refereed matches during the Euro 2016 tournament in France.
The last World Cup match refereed by a Pole was a 1998 game between the Netherlands and South Korea. The man with the whistle was Ryszard Wójcik. The Netherlands won the encounter, played in the southern French city of Marseille, 5-0.
