Football: Poland crash out of World Cup after 0-3 loss to Colombia

Poland's hopes for play in the knockout round of the football World Cup in Russia are over after being thrashed 0-3 by Colombia in the group stage on Sunday.

Earlier on Sunday, Senegal and Japan, the other two countries in Group H, tied 2-2.

After emerging triumphant from their first games last Tuesday, Senegal, which beat Poland 2-1, and Japan, which beat Colombia 2-1, are ranked equal first with four points apiece ahead of their last group-round matches.

After beating Poland, Colombia has three points.

With two losses after two games, Poland has zero points.

Poland faces Japan, and Colombia plays against Senegal, on Thursday. The winner and first runner-up from the group will continue to the knockout stage of the tournament.
