Legia on Tuesday beat the Irish team 3-0 at home in the second leg of their Champions League round one qualifier.

The Polish side’s Guinean winger Jose Kante scored the first goal of the match in Warsaw in the 27th minute, on an assist from Portuguese midfielder Cafú, and captain Miroslav Radovic, a Serb, doubled the score from a penalty in the 73rd.

Carlos López, a Spanish footballer commonly known as Carlitos, converted an assist from Radovic into a third goal for Legia in the 89th minute.

Legia defeated Cork City 1-0 in the first leg of their Champions League round one qualifier as the two sides began their European campaign last Tuesday.

The Polish champions will now face either Slovak side Spartak Trnava or Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Zrinjski Mostar in the second round of Champions League qualifiers.

Cork City, meanwhile, will be relegated to the lower Europa League, but will be granted a bye into the third round of qualifiers of the latter.

To qualify for the Champions League group stage, Legia need to eliminate three other rivals, Poland's PAP news agency has reported.

Legia in May won the Polish premier league championship for the third time in a row.

The Polish side qualified for the group stage of the 2016/2017 Champions League and drew 3-3 with Spain's Real Madrid in November 2016.

Legia later that month lost 4-8 to German side Borussia Dortmund in the highest scoring match in Champions League history.
