Piotr Żyła, also from Poland, came in second in the event on water-soaked plastic in Wisła, southern Poland, followed by Norway’s Halvor Egner Granerud. Poland’s Dawid Kubacki finished just shy of the podium.

Stoch jumped 132 metres in his first attempt and 126.5 after the weather took a turn for the worse in the second round of jumps.

The next event will be held on July 28 in Hinterzarten, southern Germany. (vb)
