Tennis: Poland’s Linette into quarter-finals in Nanchang

Poland’s Magda Linette has made it into the quarter-finals of the Jiangxi tennis open in Nanchang, China.

Linette on Thursday beat Japan’s Eri Hozumi 6-3, 7-5.
The Pole, ranked no. 80 by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), next takes on Taiwan’s En Shuo Liang
The pair play on Friday for a place in the semi-finals.
Linette is the only Pole left in the Nanchang tournament. She was supposed to take part in it two years ago, but withdrew after she qualified for the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
On Tuesday Linette beat South Korea’s Jang Su-jeong 6-4, 6-0 in Nanchang.
