Six world championship medals for Polish canoers, kayakers

Poland’s canoers and kayakers claimed a total of six medals, three silver and three bronze, at this year’s Canoe Sprint World Championships in Montemor-o-Velho, Portugal.

On Sunday, the last day of the championships, Poland’s Sylwia Szczerbińska and Dorota Borowska won the silver in the women’s C2 200 m event, while Arsen Śliwiński and Michał Łubniewski took the bronze in the men’s C2 500 m.

In yet another Polish podium finish on Sunday, Karolina Naja, Helena Wiśniewska, Anna Puławska and Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk secured the bronze in the women’s K4 500 m.

On Saturday, Poland's Borowska took the bronze in the women’s C1 200 m.

On Friday, the Polish kayak duo of Justyna Iskrzycka and Paulina Paszek grabbed the silver in the women's K2 1000 m, and the canoe duo of Łubniewski and Śliwiński added another in the men’s C 200 m.

The 2018 Canoe Sprint World Championships took place from August 22 to 26.
