Tennis: Poland’s Kubot makes US Open men's doubles final

Poland’s Łukasz Kubot and Brazil’s Marcelo Melo have reached the final of the men’s doubles competition at the US Open Grand Slam tennis tournament in New York.

The Polish-Brazilian duo beat Moldova’s Radu Albot and Tunisia’s Malek Jaziri 7-6, 3-6, 6-3 in their semifinal match on Thursday.
Kubot and Melo, who were last year named the men’s doubles team of the year by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), will take on Americans Mike Bryan and Jack Sock in the final.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Alicja Rosolska and Croatia’s Nikola Mektić have reached the final of the mixed doubles at the US Open and will face off against Bethanie Mattek-Sands of the United States and Britain’s Jamie Murray in the championship match.
