Poland's three-set win (25:17, 25:16, 25:14) in Bulgaria came as a relief after the team lost its last two games after a five-match winning streak.

Poland suffered a disappointing 1-3 loss to France in their seventh match of the championships on Saturday, following a loss 2-3 to Argentina on Friday.

Poland beat Cuba, Puerto Rico, Finland, Iran and Bulgaria in the first round of the tournament.

The 2018 FIVB Volleyball Men's World Championships run until September 30, with the Final Six -- to be played out by Poland, the US, Italy, Brazil, Russia and Serbia -- scheduled to be held in Turin, Italy.

The FIVB volleyball federation is the sport's international governing body. (vb/pk)
