Poland’s Igor Tracz has become world champion in bikejoring, an emerging new sport in which a cyclist is pulled by a dog on an elastic rope, according to a report.

Tracz was the fastest among mushers from 19 countries, including the United States and Colombia, during the championships, which were held in Lubieszów, south-western Poland, over the weekend, Poland’s PAP news agency has reported, citing bike producer Kross.

The win marked Tracz’s third world championship title in the sport.

The 41-year-old Pole was partnered by a female greyster, a breed of dog used specially for racing that is a cross between a pointer and a greyhound, the report said.
