Poland has never before participated in the multi-sport event, first held in 2014.
From October 18 to 29, injured and sick armed services personnel from 18 countries are set to compete in sports ranging from track and field events to wheelchair rugby.
Team Invictus Poland is set to compete in the hammer throw, shot put, archery, swimming, indoor rowing, sitting volleyball and a number of running events.
Błaszczak said Poland’s representatives at the games are "exceptional people because they have decided to overcome their limitations; they are also heroes because they fought in service to Poland".
The Invictus Games aims to promote sport as a form of physiotherapy and rehabilitation and to support injured war veterans' return to physical and mental health. (vb)
