In the quarter-finals, the pair on Thursday beat Croatia’s Nikola Mektić and America’s Rajeev Ram 4-6, 6-4, 10-4.

Kubot and Melo on Friday afternoon take on British pair Joe Salisbury and Neal Skupski to play for a place in the finals.

In the round of 16 at the Vienna Open, Kubot and Melo beat Ukraine’s Denys Molchanov and Slovakia’s Igor Zelenay 4-6, 7-5, 10-5.

Kubot and Melo earlier this month lifted the men’s doubles trophy at the Shanghai Masters tournament in China to claim their fourth title of the season.

The pair were last year named the men’s doubles team of 2017 by the International Tennis Federation (ITF).
