Meanwhile, Poland’s Kamil Stoch, a three-time Olympic champion and the winner of last year’s World Cup, claimed third place on Sunday.

On Saturday, Stoch finished ninth in the weekend’s first World Cup competition at Engelberg, or the Hill of Angels.

After seven individual competitions this season, Japan's Ryoyu Kobayashi topped the overall World Cup standings, with 556 points, while Żyła was second with 445 points, and Stoch was third with 365 points.

Polish ski jumpers last month won a season-opening World Cup team competition in Wisła, southern Poland.
