Football: Poland end 2018 at No. 20 in FIFA rankings

Poland will end 2018 at No. 20 in the world football rankings, a slide from the seventh spot they held at the start of the year.

Belgium remain at the top of the FIFA rankings, narrowly ahead of world champions France.
Brazil are No. 3, ahead of World Cup runners-up Croatia.
Poland were this month drawn to play Austria, Israel, Slovenia, Macedonia and Latvia in qualifiers for the Euro 2020 football championships.
Poland last month drew 1-1 with Portugal in their last Nations League group match, having already been relegated to a lower tier of the new competitive football format in Europe.
The Polish team suffered an early exit from the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Poland last year climbed to No. 5 in the FIFA table, the best result for the Polish team since the world football governing body’s ranking was launched in 1992.
Poland's lowest place was 78th, in 2013.
