Ticket rush for Adamek – Klitschko showdown

Over 40,000 tickets have already been sold for the fight, which is being hosted on 10 September at the City Stadium in Wroclaw, south west Poland. The venue – which will be inaugurated during this weekend's clash – is one of Poland's four host venues during the Euro 2012 Championships.

Tickets for the heavyweight duel are selling officially from 80 - 2950 zloty (19 - 700 euro). The fight will also be screened in over 110 countries worldwide, and Poles will have to fork out 40 zloty (9.5 euros) for the privilege of watching the punch-up, in what is the country's first ever pay-per-view TV event.

Cinemas are also cashing in on the hype, with chains such as Multikino laying on screenings for 39- 49 zloty (9-11.5 euro).

Meanwhile, it has been announced that traffic will be re-routed on the big day in Wroclaw, owing to high levels of attendance.

Although Adamek has the home advantage, his adversary – the current WBC World Heavyweight champion - is considerably stouter in build.

Nevertheless, the Pole believes that this could work to hid advantage.

“Speed is strength, and I'm a lot faster than Klitschko,” the Pole, known as the 'Highlander' declared.

“I know it won't be easy, because the ring is never easy, but I'm prepared for this, so as to win the belt.” (nh/pg)
