Remembering 1939. Michał Kubicki talks to Sigmund Rolat.
On the 73rd anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, we talk to Sigmund Rolat, Jewish activist from Częstochowa, about his war-time memories.
Sigmund Rolat was born in Częstochowa in 1930. At the age of 15 he migrated to the United States, where he is now the chairman of the North American Council of the Museum of the History of Polish Jews.
Rolant is one of the key figures behind a wide range of projects to preserve Poland’s Jewish heritage, including the construction of the Museum of the History of Polish Jew in Warsaw. Our reporter Michał Kubicki talked to him about his memories of 1939 in Częstochowa.
