  • Eurofile:: EU officials open dialogue with citizens
We look back at the third citizens' forum with the European Commission where the top EU figures seek to find common ground with society.
Vice-President
Vice-President of the EC in charge of Justice, Fundamental Rights and Citizenship Viviane Reding talks during a joint press conference with Member of the EC in charge of Internal Market and Services Michel Barnier (unseen), at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels.

In this week’s edition of our European magazine:

  • Europe bracing for the EU budget showdown
  • The European Union condemns continuing warfare between Israel and the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip
  • Poland presses Brussels to sign an accession deal with Ukraine

And in our weekly report, we look back at the third citizens' dialogue with the European Commission recently held in Berlin. Deputy chief of the European Commission, Viviane Reding, attended the event held there on 10 November. One of the topics up for debate was the lack of understanding between citizens and the EU. Journalist Eugen Cojocariu from Radio Romania International caught up with Viviane Reding after the forum.

The programme is hosted by Alicja Baczynska.
