Companies still have hope in Poland's shale gas exploration with 33 projects carried out so far, but according to a state geological institute report from 2011, Polish deposits are only 1/10th of the initial estimates.

Shale gas is a great chance for Poland. That is the opinion of American experts who, nevertheless, advocate a realistic approach with regard to the size and exploitation of Polish deposits.

“Poland has a lot of potential, there’s no doubt. But it is important to realize that this is very much the beginning of a very long process, “ says Bradford J. Bell, External Affairs Unit Chief at the US Embassy in Warsaw.
