Michal Kubicki interviews Andrzej Ossowski from the Szczecin branch of the Institute of National Remembrance (IPN), which called on the families of the victims of the communist regime to supply DNA samples.
IPN estimates that tens of thousands of Poles were killed at the hands of the Soviet NKVD secret police and its Polish counterpart between 1944 and the political thaw in 1956, three years after Stalin’s death.
