In our business programme BALANCE, where money talks: Cyprus' MPs rejected IMF and EU demands this week for a savings levy to raise 5 billion euros to stave off a major finance crisis in the country. Consequently, the government declared a 'banking holiday' in fear that people would remove all their savings.
After even the Polish embassy in Cyprus had its bank accounts blocked, reporter Veronika Joy spoke to Polish Ambassador Pawel Dobrowolski about the sense of shock and anger on the island.
Also in the programme: the grosz, lowest demonination of the Polish currency, has been saved after facing the axe.
