Rykarda Parasol talks to Hagay Hacohen
With her third album “Against the Sun” out in stores and an upcoming performance at the Heineken Open festival in Gdynia this July, American singer Rykarda Parasol talks to Polish Radio.
Rykarda Parasol's previous album “For blood and wine” (2009) quickly established her as a unique voice on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
Splitting her time and efforts between San Francisco, where she still performs with locally based musicians, and Paris, her new base of operations from which she communicates with the Polish musicians she plays with, which include Milosz Woski, Robert Rasz, and Kornel Jasinski, she continues to create new songs and images that leave the listener with a powerfully evocative mixture of strength and child-like creativity and fragility.
Rykarda tells reporter Hagay Hacohen what she appreciates most about the Polish audience and how a meditation on the meaning of her name brought about a remarkable new album.
