The exercise is designed to train and test the NATO Response Force (NRF), involving soldiers and staff from 14 countries.
As Slawek Szefs reports, personnel from the Joint Force Command Brunnssum in the Netherlands, and other HQs will be involved in a command and control exercise on the grounds of Adazi Base near the Latvian capital of Riga, while multinational troops shall participate in a live-fire exercise at Poland's Drawsko Pomorskie Training Area.
“I see that exercise as one example of future NATO […] We need to make sure that our forces can work, operate and communicate together,” said the Alliance’s Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen.
Observers from Russia have been invited by Poland’s MOD to watch the Steadfast Jazz test of NRF – the NATO Response Force.
