Polish music in Wales

Musicologist Adrian Thomas, who has contributed to the festival programme, gives a preview of Polish concerts in a conversation with Michal Kubicki.

Of the younger generation of composers, he singles out Paweł Łukaszewski, whose ‘Requiem’, commissioned by the Presteigne Festival, will have its world premiere at the event.

"Łukaszewski has been very well represented in recent years by British conductors and choirs and he’s got quite an audience here. It’s high time that he was better known in this country because he’s got a huge body of work, not only choral but orchestral as well," Thomas says.
