Donald Tusk's election as European Council president, the first politician from the CEE to attain a top EU position, is an opportunity for Poland, says President Komorowski.

"It is a recognition of Poland's achievements, of Poland’s position in Europe: but it also means more opportunities for Poland, so let us be happy,” Bronislaw Komorowski said after the announcement that the Polish centre-right prime minister will take over from Herman Van Rompuy to chair summits and find negotiating compromises.
