As John Beauchamp reports, new figures from the Polish Tourist Organisation show that the number of Poles deciding to spend their time domestically has gone up by 50 percent over the past three years.

According to the chairman of the Polish Tourist Organisation, Rafał Szmytke, this trend is not just to do with the natural beauty Poland has to offer, but due to better infrastructure and the fact that Poland’s regions are finally managing to promote themselves in front of a domestic audience.

“Poland has become more accessible, the Euro2012 football championship really did a lot to improve the country’s tourist infrastructure and facilities,” Szmytke says, adding that the country “has many more interesting products to offer Polish tourists.”
